Top 8 Things to Do in Branson, MO, with Kids

Branson, Missouri, is an incredibly diverse vacation spot. It’s a nature lover's playground. It’s the next best thing to Broadway for theater-goers. It’s a mecca for music fans, a romantic getaway for couples, and sheer heaven for active children. Plan on a nice long stay to enjoy all the adventures and activities the area has to offer for your family. There are more things to do in Branson, MO, than in just about any other town of its size in the U.S. Here are some highlights you won’t want to miss:

Table Rock State Park

This densely wooded, 356-acre park on the south side of Branson is ideal for outdoor adventures. Fun water activities on beautiful Table Rock Lake include swimming, fishing, sailing, kayaking, skiing, and scuba diving. If parasailing or paddleboarding is more your style, the marina has you covered. You can even round out the day with a showboat dinner cruise. Landlubbers can take advantage of the picnic areas, hiking trails and first-rate golf course. Be sure to make time for mountain biking and horseback riding as well!

Adventure Ziplines

Of all the things to do in Branson, this is one of the most thrilling. If you’re at least three years old, weigh no more than 275 pounds and get your kicks soaring over the treetops at 50 mph, ziplining might be right up your alley. There are seven unique ziplines of various lengths, and the fun takes place 70 feet above the ground. You can fly at night during summer months and you can even fly upside down.

Most tours take around two hours, and there are discounted rates for groups. If you decide the ride isn’t for you once you get up there, the majestic view of the Ozark Mountains from the main tower is well worth the trip.

Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner Attraction

The legendary country music star guarantees more bang for your buck. Enjoy a cocktail and light entertainment in the world-famous Carriage Room, and then head to the 35,000-square-foot arena for the big event. Witness gravity-defying stunts on horseback, epic musical numbers, dazzling special effects, pyrotechnics, and stand-up comedians. The four-course dinner isn’t bad either.

Xtreme Racing Center of Branson

If you have little putt-putt go-karts in mind, think again. These height-adjustable, European-style cars were designed by Sodi Racing, the industry leader in racing karts. Precision handling and a cutting-edge concrete raceway will transport you to your personal Indy 500. Round up the family and see who’s the fastest!

Silver Dollar City’s White Water

One of the most popular things to do in Branson, MO, is spend a long, lively day at Silver Dollar City. This 1880s-themed park has a great mix of thrills for daredevils and historic, laid-back fun for visitors of all ages. The Titanic Branson is a half-scale replica of the world’s most famous ship that hosts over 400 authentic artifacts from the actual ship (including personal items of its passengers) and twenty rooms.
